Ostösterreichischer Grenzlandweg, Weitwanderweg 7, Nebelstein - Bad Radkersburg, 697 km
Like the Nord-Süd-Weg the Eastern Border Way starts in the Waldviertel, but it does take a different route. From its start, one heads east, passing the Austrian wine region. It's the only Weitwanderweg that runs right through Vienna. Hence the path takes a long route south through the lowlands bordering Hungary. The trail ends at the border with Slovenia, where it connects to the Südalpenweg.
This border trail does not run through the Alps. You will therefore be in a part of Austria that is rarely visited by foreigners. Nature is nevertheless worthwhile; the trail passes through several nature parks. Technically and conditionally spoken, the trail is easy. Large parts are good for cycling.
