We did the hike in two days, spending the night in the mountain hut on the pass. In day one the first part was in the sun and beautiful walking. Then as the weather changed in strong wind and rain we also entered the snow. From that point we only walked in snow. The recent craters that developed after the last eruption in 2010 we could hardly see. After some though and cold hours we came in the hut. A really cosy place that with around 15 walkers. Nice warm and a lot of good stories were shared. Next the the wind was even harder! It was a complete storm although we had the wind from behind us. Still a beautiful trail heading down to the coast. The many waterfalls were awesome!!
