Markgräfler Wiwegli, Freiburg - Weil am Rhein, 81 km, 3 days
The third of the three wine ways along the western slopes of the Black Forest is the Markgräfler Wiwegli. It is the shortest of the three, 81 km, and according to the website of the Schwarzwaldverein you can walk it in three days. Then you have to stay away from the wine. And that is a pity. For why else walk this trail in the Markgräferland?
This third wine way runs roughly between Strasbourg and Basel. It is the only wine way that gets close to the Rhine proper. Most of the time the path closely follows the mountain edge of the Black Forest, with good views over the Rhine, the Vosges and the Black Forest itself.
