Ruta de la Lana, Alicante - Burgos, 380 km, 15 days

Historically, there is evidence of a Way of St. James from Alicante to Burgos, crossing the Meseta. The pilgrimage was connecte to the wool trade. This route is not frequently used, and is only partially waymarked. Don’t undertake this one in mid-summer - but that holds for most trails in Spain if you don’t want to get cooked, baked, grilled or all three. The Ruta de la Lana crosses the Camino de Leveante - a more popular route - in the town Almansa.
