Positive Overall a frustrating trail. When it’s good it is outstanding, especially the new high routes above Loch Ness. Some remnants of the Caledonian Pine Forest are enchanting.
Negative Just scrapes a 7. The whole route is on a hard surface, and while the walking isn’t particularly difficult, it is hard on the feet and knees. So much of the route is through commercial forestry with thick plantation of Norway and Sitka Spruce all around.- at times you may as well be walking through a tunnel. It’s tedious. Some route development would really help this trail.
