This relatively small plateau lies east of Hardangervidda. The east side of the plateau is largely below the tree line. Going west, the land rises and more views open. If you choose this area for your hike, you must climb Høgevard at 1459 m. This mountain is said to give the best views of south Norway, next to Gaustatoppen south of Hardangervidda. The most popular part is around Tempelseter (private hut) and Høgevarde (self-service hut). But you can walk east-west, starting from Norefjell to Hardangervidda.
