- Positive The variety of vegetation and variety of landscapes, the excellent level of huts, the wilderness experience and the sheer beauty of the area. All of the great walks run by Department of Conservation are wonderful. This is one of my favorites. I have done it 3 times in the last 10 years,
- Negative Only the sand-flies ( midges).
